Best Minecraft Shaders | Java

Hey there!

I know some of you guys play Minecraft, in this post, I’ll be going over the best shaders for Minecraft: Java Edition!

Although I personally love the Bedrock version, that doesn’t stop me from creating posts related to Java edition. Plus, the shaders are just beautiful!

NOTE: Running shaders on Java edition requires you to install a mod called ‘Optifine’ or ‘Iris’ mod

Now then, let’s get started.

Minecraft shaders, for both Bedrock and Java editions, are ultimately meant to enhance vanilla Minecraft gameplay in the best ways possible.

The most popular shaders for Java edition are listed below, from best to worst;

  1. Sildur’s Vibrant Shaders
  2. BSL Shaders
  3. Complementary Shaders
  4. Lagless Shaders
  5. Oceans Shaders
  6. KUDA Shaders

Keep in mind that I may be missing a few, these are just the top 6 shaders. I hope this helped you chose the right shader for you!

Note: Be careful what you download from the internet! The safest site to download these from is known as Curseforge where thousands of verified mods and shaders can be downloaded for Java Edition.

These also don’t work on Bedrock Edition, sadly. For Bedrock Edition shaders, I would recommend MCPEDL as your mod or shader download site, however it’s not as safe as Curseforge.
