chirpchat’s Early Feedback

Chirpchat is a Roblox Chat redesign. Chirpchat enhances the UI and user experience while chatting on the Roblox platform.

Let’s look at the highlighted features!

Default chat

As you can see from the redesign, there are rounded corners on the UI. There are also better icons which are provided by Twemoji and Flaticon! There’s an emoji icon to open up a list of emojis.

Chat tags & Profile pictures

You can have profile pictures and chat tags for your chat which helps recognize who people are! This will be added in the full release of chripchat.

Simple emoji picker

With chirpchat, you will be able to pick your own emojis from the emoji list by pressing the smiley emoji! It will open up all emojis that you will be able to use.

Thanks for looking at the early preview of chirpchat!
I will be replying with more previews of this. So far this is the concept, there are no scripts yet.

You know what will take this to the stars? Add a channel selector, the default textchatservice does not have a channel selector despite it having the ability to create channels. Would be fairly easy to implement seeing textchatservice supports this natively.

this is cool but i have a few ideas for improvement

  1. the mainframe drop shadow is WAY too strong, i would reduce the effect intensity
  2. the emoji list looks pretty weird and doesnt seem to fit:

    i redesigned how i’d go about the emoji selection panel here and added some comments:

    for this, when loaded, the emoji list frame can either popup as an overlay over incoming chat messages OR it can just move the chat message list right above the emoji frame and come back down when the emoji frame is hidden again.
    here’s the google drive link to the editable .psd file that you can open with photoshop (or if photopea if you dont have photoshop) and extract any raw effects you want to see in-depth, etc:
