AI has been taking over the internet by storm, companies looking to integrate with it at all costs, systems being shortened. People becoming smarter.
And who has been behind most of this? OpenAI. GPT 3 is a powerful tool.
GPT-3, or Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3, is an advanced artificial intelligence language model developed by OpenAI. Released in June 2020, it uses deep learning techniques and a transformer architecture to generate human-like text based on given prompts. With 175 billion parameters, GPT-3 is known for its impressive language understanding and generation capabilities. It can perform tasks such as translation, summarization, question-answering, and content creation. However, it has limitations related to data biases, lack of contextual understanding, and excessive energy consumption during training.
We’ve created GPT-4, the latest milestone in OpenAI’s effort in scaling up deep learning. GPT-4 is a large multimodal model (accepting image and text inputs, emitting text outputs) that, while less capable than humans in many real-world scenarios, exhibits human-level performance on various professional and academic benchmarks. For example, it passes a simulated bar exam with a score around the top 10% of test takers; in contrast, GPT-3.5’s score was around the bottom 10%. We’ve spent 6 months iteratively aligning GPT-4 using lessons from our adversarial testing program as well as ChatGPT, resulting in our best-ever results (though far from perfect) on factuality, steerability, and refusing to go outside of guardrails.
A bit limitation of GPT 3 is that you can’t send it images, once GPT 4 can start to read images it will be able to output more powerful responses and be a much more powerful tool.
Take some examples:
GPT-4 is capable of handling over 25,000 words of text, allowing for use cases like long form content creation, extended conversations, and document search and analysis.
25,000 words is crazy. Incredibly incredibly crazy. That input amount is incredibly high.
In a casual conversation, the distinction between GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 can be subtle. The difference comes out when the complexity of the task reaches a sufficient threshold—GPT-4 is more reliable, creative, and able to handle much more nuanced instructions than GPT-3.5.
Right now the default model is GPT 3. However if you want to get early access to GPT 4, you must either do one of the following:
ChatGPT plus allows people to sample products and get a certain amount of benefits, have ChatGPT plus allows you to select the model “GPT 4”.
As of 15/03/2023 GPT 4 is still in testing so you are restrained to 100 messages every 4 hours.
Pretty simple: Apply here. They’re rolling out access so be sure to be patient. It can take months. It might not.
In conclusion, whether you like it or not, AI is beginning to take over various aspects of our lives, with companies and teams across the globe harnessing its capabilities. GPT-4, the latest iteration from OpenAI, brings even more powerful features, such as image recognition and larger input limits, pushing the boundaries of AI’s potential.
As AI continues to evolve, it is crucial to stay informed and be prepared for the remarkable transformations it will bring to our world.
