Time and time again we see it, AI art is starting to become a staple in Roblox thumbnail design.
Recently in one of my videos I used an AI thumbnail on a testing game and it wasn’t very well received in the comments (it was just a testing game though).
I would like to hear your opinions on whether you think AI art is fair.
Absolutly. Using AI art dosen’t show a sense of origionality. If I see AI art in thumbnails or icons I tend to look down on the game, as if it’s low quality or something close to that.
AI always makes mistakes with art. Most of the time if you said “make me a roblox style thumbnail for my shopping game called aimart”, half of the time it would make a spelling mistake and possibly spell it as “aimat”.
i remember when one of my english teachers used an AI image, they are so easy to point out.
I am in the middle of both sides- yes it is taking peoples jobs away and is hard to get your head around both sides of the debate.
But, I don’t think it will become the thing that revolutionize the ROBLOX Graphics Industry- unless it improves. Here is my reasoning-
But, I also have another side, here is my reasoning for it being scary-
So, overall in my opinion- im in the middle but slightly edging over to the dangerous side.
It honestly should. AI art shows human originality and lets GFX creators get fewer commissions. To be honest, all front page games I see have stupid AI-generated logos, icons, thumbnails, etc. It annoys me so much.
It’s funny, I feel quite on the fence with this, like, sure, AI art isn’t good, it just doesn’t feel right, but: why should anybody care?
I feel that while AI art doesn’t feel right (becasue it’s a shortcut to save money and hiring someone for the job) and while it might be genuine to use on for testing / private games, developers are tending to go for AI art because … well, it’s just too easy.
But I believe the answer to “why should anybody care” is that only those who are willing to properly go through the process of hiring someone for graphics and art are the ones who genuinely to care for the success of authentic graphic / art designers. Yes, it takes much longer, but as a result the artwork is authentic and carefully made in comparision with AI art … you can also tell them apart and I think that’s what most players would appreciate – that the developer took the time to plan it, hire someone to do it, and then pay them for it, another reason is that it shows the developer isn’t cutting corners on their game’s cover art.
Okay… but @yelnatsz @uhalexz @OH20_rbLX. Let’s say somebody can’t afford to higher an expert GFX designer; wouldn’t AI be the better way for them as it provides them to more expert looking thumbnails without having to pay the high fees?
Learning is a process though. I mean, it takes a long time to perfect something. But it’s part of the process. Nothing that wrong with AI, its just easy to tell the difference. We all start from somewhere.
Even though AI is the future, they should try learning how to make these things. It’s not easy for us GFX designers to make GFXs. They should know how to make one instead of taking a bad way and using AI to make their thumbnails, icons, etc.
What would they of done before the AI Image system was made? Simply make it themselves if they can’t afford it.
My thoughts 
So, I feel like it depends who you are, like if your just starting out without funding I think it’s okay to use AI art, but if you can afford a Gfx artist it’s better to just get one.
AI art is (mostly) alright, its fine if your just using it as inspiration, but I don’t agree with using it directly like that.
I suppose if the developer has absolutely no Robux or currency to hire a graphics designer, then AI would serve better for them for as long as they can’t afford an experienced designer.
It would be in their best interest to get a quality graphics designer at some point, though … some good designers I’ve seen offer graphics for 200 Robux at minumim.
Yeh, but it wouldn’t be as good. 
Sure it doesn’t look as good as a human designer but it could be the best option for some people.
Also, Using AI art in games can lead to dislikes and i am still in the Roblox Elevator Community

Ai art looks horrible I honestly think making your own icon is better cause ai art honestly I would give it a 1/10 because really like for example this image is a better I got this from Aloha juices bye the way.
This is a ai one I got from airborne airport.
It is not good like I don’t think ai images should be on games at all.
