You see, Türkiye is the 4rth most player population on Roblox. There’s game devs from Türkiye, which is terrible. Also, this might be wrong, but Türkiye probably could’ve banned because THEY DONT LIKE IT!
Like, there’s people that do love Roblox in Türkiye. And EVERYONE playing in Türkiye, was at this time of Roblox being banned in Türkiye, they were GONE! Should the Turkish Goverment unban it?
That’s their government for you.
Turkey banned Roblox for a reason.
And their reason is unfair.
I don’t think so… The reason was inappropiate games
And I bet you Roblox will be back in 9 days like Instagram and I assure you the issue wont be fixed.
Also, I don’t think is the way you should deal with something like this, with all online platforms there’s a risk of inappropriate content.
If they want to follow that logic, that means they should be blocking Instagram, TikTok, Fortnite, Twitter and all the other online games and social medias.
Do I agree the internet has to be more tightly regulated for children, yes, yes I do. But does blocking a platform fix the actual issue? no.
Changed to Debates
Yeah… you’re right.
I’ve realized this
I completely agree with this!
Absolutely, you get this in almost every online-game and social media platform, and there are ways to go around this.
Much like in China, there are certain rules that prevent people from doing certain things in the internet.
It would be much easier, and formal to talk with ROBLOX and take action by perhaps modifying the app.
That would be much harder, but I think that’s the best way to go around it.
This is an interesting topic brought up … if I’m not mistaken, Türkiye decided to ban Roblox because it was deemed “inappropriate” and a source of potential “child abuse,” so the only way to effectively remove those issues altogether (in their opinion) was to ban the platform.
Now, in my opinion, this is Roblox’s fault and the fault of those who misbehave online - Roblox has a relatively less-than-successful moderation system, which means Roblox needs to dramatically improve their filtration in order to guarantee proper behavior on the platform and secure the approval from officials. However - this doesn’t mean Roblox players will abide.
Ultimately, this comes down to how children (and adults) behave on Roblox. Yes, Roblox is also responsible for this ban because of their overall “slow” effort to ensure developers are being honest when they say their games are “safe for children,” but it is the unfortunate reality that many children (and even adults) choose to misbehave online. And nobody can really change that.
And, of course, this “misbehaving” and the potential for “child abuse” would’ve been another piece of evidence to get Roblox banned in Türkiye, just as Roblox faced scrutiny elsewhere for the same reason and was made illegal in seven countries, including Türkiye.
So, was Türkiye’s government unfair to ban Roblox? In my opinion, they had their reasons, but their move to ban Roblox is unjust for developers (primarily), and players as well (to a lesser extent). If Roblox wants to become unbanned in Türkiye, it’s a sign they need to step up their own game and encourage their player-base in the country to behave if they want to play on their favorite platform again.
They like to play ROBLOX…? There are lots of players in Turkey.
Yeah like half the player base of Roblox is kids.
Ooooooh. Yeah! Now I remember that!
Adding on, it’s not only that Roblox was deemed inappropriate, child abuse or Turkey did not like the platform, but Roblox was deemed for selling data. You might say how did Turkey know this and not other countries, I’m pretty sure Roblox agreed that they sold data and they added Data Privacy Settings. Furthermore, they even added a Data Erasure option in the roblox support page.
This was one of the main reasons for it being banned, why was Roblox selling their collected data? They claimed that they sold it to affiliates to improve their platform. This doesn’t make sense.
